What it does

Everything you need to understand your money

No aspirational feature list — everything below exists in the app today.

Day to day

  • Accounts

Track income and expenses across cash, bank, savings and credit card accounts, each with its own opening balance.

  • Transfers & reconciliation

Move money between your own accounts and reconcile balances against the real thing.

  • Budgets

Set a budget per category and get an alert before you go over it.

  • Recurring payments

Track recurring payments with a reminder on the day each one is due.

  • Today’s Budget

Turn recurring income and expenses into a rolling daily allowance, with what remains carried forward month to month.

The whole picture

  • Trackers

Group spending around a trip, a house move or an instalment plan — including what other people paid, which never touches your balances.

  • Investments

Crypto, stocks and ETFs, funds, precious metals, property, collectibles, pensions and more — average-cost basis and per-asset history.

  • Analytics

Net worth over time, income vs. expenses, spending by category, a spending calendar, and a cash-flow forecast.

  • More than one currency

Hold accounts in different currencies and still see a single total, converted using published exchange rates.

Yours, on your terms

  • Import & export

Import a CSV statement from your bank. Export everything as CSV, free, forever — no lock-in.

  • Apple Intelligence, on device

Ask about your finances, improve spending summaries and categorise imported transactions on supported devices — without sending your data to a model provider.

  • PDF reports

A formatted summary of any period, ready to print or hand to your accountant.

  • Widget & Apple Watch

A home screen widget and a read-only Apple Watch app keep your numbers a glance away.

  • Face ID / Touch ID

Lock the app with Face ID, Touch ID or a passcode.

  • Sync, if you want it

Sign in to keep your devices in step, or skip it — Arrel works on its own either way.

Privacy

Private by default, not as an afterthought

Arrel keeps your financial data on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you sign in to sync it — and even then only to us, never to anyone else.

  • Works without an account. Everything you record — accounts, budgets, investments, analytics — is yours before you ever sign in.

  • Signing in is optional, and adds two things: sync between your own devices, and trackers you share with other people.

  • No ads, no analytics and no third-party SDK of any kind — every import in the app is an Apple framework.

  • Even when you sync, the server stores and returns your records — it never analyses them. Net worth, budgets and forecasts are all calculated on your own device.

Investments

One portfolio for everything you own

Most finance apps stop at your bank account. Arrel treats your investments as part of the same picture as your everyday spending.

Trackers

The trip, not the month

Some spending doesn't belong to a category or a calendar. A tracker groups it around the thing itself — a trip, a house move, a phone paid in instalments — and keeps a running total for as long as it takes.

  • Tag it as you go

Record spending the way you always do, then tag it into a tracker from the transaction editor. No separate workflow to remember.

  • Including money that was never yours

“Ana paid for the taxi” belongs to the trip, not to your ledger. An entry someone else paid is recorded without ever touching your accounts or your balances.

  • Share it with the people on it

Invite the others with a link and everyone adds what they paid. Only the host needs Premium — the people you invite join free.

FAQ

Questions people actually ask

Does Arrel require an account?

No. Arrel works without an account, and everything you record stays on your device. Signing in is optional — it adds sync between your own devices, and trackers you share with other people.

What does signing in actually do?

Two things: it syncs your data between your own devices, and it lets you share a tracker with other people. Everything else in Arrel works before you ever sign in.

Is my financial data private?

Yes. Arrel stores your data on your device, and if you choose to sync, the server stores and returns your records — it never analyses them. Arrel uses no ads, no analytics and no third-party SDKs.

Does Arrel show live market prices?

Yes, for crypto, stocks and ETFs, as part of Premium. Your device asks our server for today's price for the tickers you hold — nothing that identifies you — and you tap to refresh rather than it happening in the background. Funds, precious metals, property and pensions are valued by hand, and entering a value yourself is always free.

Does Arrel connect to my bank account?

No. Arrel never asks for bank credentials and has no connection to any bank. You can import a CSV statement from your bank instead, and export everything as CSV at any time, free of charge.

What is a tracker?

A way to group spending around a thing rather than a category or a month — a trip, a house move, a phone paid in instalments. Entries can include what other people paid, which never touches your own balances. Free covers one open tracker, and closed ones never count against it.

What can I track as an investment?

Crypto, stocks and ETFs, funds, precious metals, property, collectibles, pensions, and savings or bonds — each with average-cost basis and full per-asset history.

Which devices does Arrel run on?

iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, on iOS 18 or later. The Apple Watch app is read-only — it shows this month's spending, recent movements and your budgets, and recording stays on the phone.

Is Arrel free to use?

Yes. Arrel is free to use, with an optional Premium subscription — billed monthly or annually — for higher limits plus extras like shared trackers, live prices, the cash-flow forecast and PDF reports. The annual plan starts with a 7-day free trial.

What happens to my data if I stop paying for Premium?

Nothing is deleted. If a subscription lapses, your data and every record you've created stay exactly as they are — you simply return to the free limits.

Does Arrel use AI?

On supported devices, optional Apple Intelligence can interpret finance questions, improve spending summaries and help categorise imported transactions. It runs on device and never decides the arithmetic — every figure still comes directly from what you entered.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. Arrel is available for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch today; an Android app isn't available.

How accurate is the cash-flow forecast?

The forecast is part of Premium, and it projects only payments you've already scheduled — it's a commitment, not a prediction, and it can't account for spending you haven't told Arrel about.

Can I get my data out of Arrel?

Yes, at any time. Settings → Export Data produces a full CSV export, free of charge, whether or not you have a subscription.
